Aussie Rallies On Employment Data

Morning Report: 09.00 London

• This morning, stock markets are reaching for fresh highs ahead of today’s big Non Farm Payrolls data. At the same time, the dollar index is holding after pushing higher yet again yesterday.
                                                                 

                               

                               

• The big mover is the Australian dollar, with the AUD/USD up 0.37%, with the AUD/JPY up 0.34%.
                                                                                                                                                                   
                               

                               

• Gold is also nudging higher after big falls this week.
                                             
                               

• Yesterday the ECB united behind more stimulus, a move which only added fuel to the EUR/USD’s recent down trend. This morning, the euro is lifting back higher again, but not enough to unwind yesterday’s move.

                               
                           
Coming up today:

• Coming up today we have UK trade balance at 09.30. BOW governor King then speaks at 10.15.

• The day’s big ticket is US Non Farm Payrolls at 13.30, with the unemployment released at the same time, followed by Fed Chair Yellen speaking. Canadian employment data is also released at the same time.

Trade Idea:

• The EUR/USD is reversing some of yesterday’s move, but in the long term the trend looks too strong to oppose.
