Economic Calendar for Wednesday opens with a batch of Services PMIs for August, so let’s take a closer look.
Italian stats are out first at 7:45 in the morning, followed by Final French data five minutes later. Final German report then will be available at 7:55 and the whole bloc’s numbers are out at 8 o’clock. According to the flash report, Euro Zone index edged up by point 2%.
UK Services PMI follows at 8:30. Services sector expanded once again in July, but slower than previously as index declined to 53.5.
Euro Zone Retail Sales for July will then be published at 9 o’clock. Food, drinks and tobacco along with automotive fuels drove sales higher in June as they expanded by point 3%.
US Trade Balance for July will be available at a half past noon GMT. Deficit expanded in June by 7.3% to 46.3 billion US Dollars.
Canadian trade stats for July are released at the same time. Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world narrowed from 2.7 billion in May to 626 million in June, which was the smallest deficit since early 2017.
Then the high importance Bank of Canada Interest Rate announcement takes place at 2 PM GMT. Markets are mostly anticipating overnight rate to stay unchanged at 1 and a half percent.
Australian Trade Balance for July wraps up this agenda at 1:30 in the morning. A sharp increase of 158% pushed the trade surplus to 1.87 billion Australian Dollars in June.
