The latest Bank of Japan monetary policy announcement has rocked the FX markets on the last trading day of October, so stay with us to find out more, what’s been moving and shaking. I`m Sinead MacLaughlin. Dollar/Yen is the mover of the day, having gained a massive 2.93%. Most of the gains took place early in the session, but a gradual uptrend continued during the remaining part of the day as well. Greenback has benefited the most from the Bank of Japan announcement as Federal Reserve steered their monetary policy in the opposite direction. UK Consumer Confidence worsened in October, but Sterling trades mostly higher and only point 21% South of the Buck. The US stock indexes have opened in the green and antipodes trade in a close range – Kiwi Dollar is almost level with the neighboring Ozzy Dollar. Euro is in the lower part of the table as German Retail sales dropped sharply and bloc’s inflation rose as expected in overall terms, while the core measure slipped. It’s followed closely by the Swiss Franc and the Loonie Dollar, which was sent South as Canada’s GDP showed a contraction in August. Wrapping up the advancers and decliners table is Japanese Yen, which plummeted as Bank of Japan increased its goal for annual monetary base expansion to 80 trillion Yen. So, let’s see how these moves reflect on longer term charts. Dollar/Yen takes the top stop on the weekly advancers list with a rise of 3.5%. Euro/Dollar has declined the most and it’s 1.26% in the red. New Zealand/Yen has gained the most over a month and it’s up by 2.44%.
