The pair continued moving higher yesterday, gaining a total of point 51% or 58 pips, although a subsequent decline has wiped out most of the gains. A couple of news releases from the United States were released at 12:30 PM GMT yesterday, and spreads peaked at 1.8 pips just as the data came out. The Cable’s long-term average spread reaches point 75 pips, whereas the daily max stands at 4.8 pips. Pound/Dollar also went up yesterday, but this morning has been more bearish. Once again, spreads were at their highest as the US data came out, but 4.8 pips is the most you should have seen. And Dollar/Yen’s spreads have averaged at point 32 pips over the last 24 hours, peaking at 2.5 pips. This pair has seen a decline, as it’s down by more than 1% or 120 pips from its daily peak at 112 93.
