The last day of the week has brought a setback in Euro’s bullish gallop; let’s see what else has been moving and shaking. The mover of the day is the Pound/New Zealand, which has declined by point 46. The pair was trending lower for most of the session. Commodity currencies have been doing quite well today, with Kiwi being the most bullish major, albeit it’s just a fraction up from the Loonie, which received a boost as the latest Canadian GDP figures came in line with expectations. There have been several pieces of strong data from the United States, such as improved Chicago PMI and an increase in consumer sentiment, and the Greenback is point 15% up from the Aussie. Two safe havens are trading within a narrow range from each other, with Yen a fraction higher than the Swissie. Euro Zone inflation eased in June, and the Common Currency stands near the bottom of the Advancers and Decliners table, but it is trading a fraction North from Sterling. Commodity currencies are also going strong in the long term charts, as Canada/Yen has gained more than 3% over a week, which makes it the most bullish instrument. Greenback has declined by 2.23% against the neighbouring Loonie, and it is the biggest decline. The same pairs dominate the monthly chart, with Canada/Yen standing 5.7% in the green and Dollar/Canada having lost more than 4%. I’m Kiays Khalil and these were the Movers and Shakers for Friday.
