Canadian Industrial Product Price Index for September is out at 12:30 PM GMT. The Index surprised on the upside in August, reversing a point 3% decline the previous month. Coming up next at 6 o’clock is arguably the most important event of the week, namely, the latest Federal Open Market Committee Monetary Policy Statement. The Fed is widely expected to announce an end to its government bond purchase program, but there have been dissenting views among the policy makers. Another high importance Monetary Policy Statement follows at 8, this time from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The bank became the first major central bank to raise the interest rates earlier this year, but no changes are expected this time. Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz will be speaking at 8:15, and Loonie Dollar traders may want to pay close attention as he will be testifying before the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade, and Commerce in Ottawa. And Australian Third Quarter Import Price Index will be available at half past midnight. Import prices dropped more than expected in the second quarter as Aussie Dollar appreciated against other currencies and oil prices went down. So these are the news releases to watch this Wednesday.
