The latest Euro Zone inflation figures are released on Friday, the 28th of November, so let’s take a closer look. I’m Sinead MacLaughlin and this is the Economic Calendar.
German Retail Sales for October will be available at 7 o’clock in the morning. Sales plunged in September, and it was the sharpest decline in more than seven years.
UK Nationwide House Price Index for November comes at the same time. The Index returned to growth in October, following a slip below zero the previous month.
Swiss KOF Economic Barometer for November follows at eight. The Index grew more than expected in October, fuelled by growth in finances and domestic consumption; on the other hand, falling international demand was the main drag.
The highly anticipated Euro Zone Preliminary Consumer Price Index for November is out at 10. The annual inflation remains stubbornly low, and the falling oil prices are expected to push it lower this month. This, in turn, puts more pressure on the European Central Bank as it prepares for its rate decision next week.
Euro Zone Unemployment Rate for October is due at the same time, and this is another painful figure for the ECB policy makers as the rate has seen no improvement for the last three months.
And the closely watched Canadian GDP for September concludes the schedule at 1:30 PM GMT. This release will also include the third quarter data. Canadian GDP inched lower in August as declines were recorded in most subsectors, particularly in oil and gas extraction.
So these are the news releases to watch this Friday. Check back in for the next overview of key events for Monday. Goodbye.
