The rate went up yesterday afternoon, gaining 1.44% or 162 pips, but it has since declined from its highest point of 1 1423. Several news releases from the United States rocked the spreads at 3 PM yesterday, so let’s see what happened. Spreads were higher than usual for a number of ticks, but the gap did not exceed 3.9 pips. Pound/Dollar’s daily average is point 9 pips, and the peak separation of 8.7 pips was recorded yesterday. This pair had a bullish yesterday afternoon, gaining more than 1% or 158 pips, but it has seen limited movement since. Yesterday’s US news releases sent spreads higher for this pair as well. Both sides separated as the rate went down, but make sure your broker hasn’t charged you more than 8.7 pips. And the last pair for this report is the Dollar/Yen with the long-term average and maximum spreads of point 38 and 4.4 pips, respectively. This instrument has seen its ups and downs, but the biggest move was a gain of point 79% or 93 pips.
