Thursday could bring some much-needed support for Abenomics, so let’s take a closer look. I’m Sinead MacLaughlin with the Economic Calendar.
Markets will be closed throughout the United States for Thanksgiving, and the first item on the schedule comes at 8:15 AM when the Swiss third quarter Industrial Production data is released. Output saw a strong drop in the second quarter, and new orders, orders at hand and sales went down as well.
German GfK Consumer Confidence for December is out at noon. The Index has been declining for the past three months although it remains above its long-term average.
There is little on the schedule until 11:30 PM GMT when the closely watched Japanese Consumer Price Index for October is released. The annual headline CPI dropped to 0% in September, and the core index even slipped below zero, but the Bank of Japan did not expand its quantitative easing programme.
Japanese Jobless Rate for October is out at the same time. The unemployment rate stood unchanged at 3.4% in September.
And last up at 5 minutes past midnight is the UK GfK Consumer Confidence for November. The Index lost one point in October as customers are increasingly vary about the global slowdown.
So that concludes the Economic Calendar for Thursday, the 26th of November. Check back in for the next overview of news releases for Friday. Goodbye.
