UK Mortgage Approvals for July follow at half past 8. The June data came in stronger than anticipated, reaching its highest level in more than a year and prompting claims the UK housing market may be heating up again. The highly anticipated US Durable Goods Orders for July are up next at half past noon GMT. The previous report surprised strongly on the upside as orders rebounded from a 2.2% drop the previous month. And there’s a gap in the schedule until 1:30 AM when the Australian Second Quarter Private Capital Expenditure is released. Expenditure has been falling for the past two quarters as a strong decline in construction offset some growth in equipment spending. So these are the news releases to watch on this Wednesday.
