ECB Monetary Policy Thursday is here, so let’s take a closer look at the day’s fundamentals.
German GfK Consumer Climate for August is out first at 6 o’clock in the morning. Consumer climate index stood unchanged in July at 10.7 and no significant moves are expected this time around as well.
The high importance European Central Bank monetary policy announcement follows at a quarter to noon GMT with a follow up press conference at a half past noon.
It’s busy with US releases at a half past noon GMT as well and the high importance Advance Durable Goods for June is one of them. Overall orders were down by point 4% in May and this was the second monthly decline in a row.
Jobless Claims are also out at 12:30 PM. Initial claims were down by 8 thousand to 207 thousand during the week ending in July the 14th. This was the lowest level in almost 50 years.
Japanese Tokyo Consumer Price Index for July follows at 11:30 PM. Tokyo inflation accelerated faster than expected in June as it rose from a half a percent.
Australian Produce Price Index for the second quarter wraps up this agenda at 1:30 in the morning. The PPI rose by a half a percent in March quarter and this was the 8th consecutive quarterly increase.
