Euro/Dollar’s long term average spread is point 3 pips and peak separation has been 2 and a half pips. Last 24 hours have been bearish for this pair, it has dropped by a massive 1.2% or 154 pips. Spreads peaked yesterday at 2 PM GMT as the US new home sales release was out, sending the rate lower. Both of the sides were 2.5 pips apart during the slide, but you shouldn’t have seen a gap bigger than this. The Cable’s long term average and maximum spreads are 1.07 and 2.6 pips respectively. Pound/Dollar has been on a slide from the high of 1 6414 and it’s down by point 84% or 138 pips. Spreads were higher than usual yesterday at 2 PM here as well, but make sure you haven’t been charged more than 2.6 pips. And last up for this report is Dollar/Yen, which has long term average spread of point 3 pips. Both of the sides moved 1.6 pips apart yesterday. Greenback has been on a rise against the Yen and the pair is up by point 75% or 81 pips from the low of 108 57. US New Home Sales release has had the most influence on the spreads here as well, but make sure your broker hasn’t increased them artificially above the daily max of 1.6 pips. That brings Thursday’s Main Spike Controller to an end. These stats are updated on an hourly basis throughout the day so stay tuned.
