Euro/Dollar’s long term average and maximum spreads are point 3 and 1.9 pips respectively. Last 24 hours haven’t been particularly volatile for this pair, the biggest move is a decline of point 36% or 46 pips. Spreads were slightly elevated yesterday at a quarter past 1 o`clock PM GMT during a decline, but you shouldn’t have seen a gap bigger than 1.9 pips. The Cable’s averages are slightly above 1 pip in all three time ranges and peak spread of 6.4 pips was recorded during the last 4 hours. Long term high and low difference of 67 pips was posted during a rise of point 42%, but the rate has moved sharply down during the last hour. Preliminary UK GDP was released today at 8:30 in the morning and that’s the time of the peak daily spread. Both of the sides separated during a rise, but you shouldn’t have paid more than 6.4 pips. And last up for this overview is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 29 and 1.7 pips respectively. The rate moved sharply up yesterday, gaining point 87% or 93 pips to hit the high of 108 36. Spreads were higher than usual for a while yesterday at a half past noon GMT, but make sure your broker hasn’t increased them artificially above the daily max of 1.7 pips.
