There has been a lack of significant rate shifts on the FX markets during most of the day, but let’s see if anything has changed by 3 PM GMT on this Wednesday. Australia/Canada is the mover of the day with a decline of point 7%. Most of the session was calm for this pair as it moved sharply South only after 2 PM GMT. Bank of Canada brought no surprises, leaving benchmark rate on hold at a half a percent level and Loonie Dollar has shot up on top of the advancers and decliners table. German GfK Consumer Climate improved slightly and Single currency is mostly higher. Overnight New Zealand trade report showed surplus expanding rapidly and Kiwi Dollar is close to level with the Swiss Franc. UK Sterling is trailed closely by the Greenback as investors anticipate the latest FOMC meeting minutes. Japanese Yen is up only from the Australian Dollar, which is at the bottom of the table as Australian construction work done disappointed. New Zealand/Yen takes the top spot on the weekly bulls chart with a gain of close to 2%. Sterling/New Zealand has had a bearish week and it’s down by 1.56%. Euro/Yen has appreciated the most over a month and rise measures close to the 5% mark. Australia/Swissie is the top decliner, standing more than 3% in the red.
