Wednesday brings the latest updates on services and manufacturing, so let’s take a closer look with the Economic Calendar.
Preliminary January PMIs from several Euro Zone countries will be available first thing in the morning, starting with the French data at 8. German indices follow 30 minutes later, and the data for the entire currency bloc is out at 9. Both the services and manufacturing indices continued growing in December as strong gains in Germany reversed a slight decline in French data.
UK Labour Report for December follows at half past 9, and the unemployment rate has stood at the same low level for the past 4 months.
Coming up next at 2:45 PM GMT is the preliminary reading of US Markit January PMI. The manufacturing index grew more than anticipated in December, but the services index inched lower, although it did remain well in the positive territory.
US Existing Home Sales for December will be available at 3. Sales jumped to an 11-year high in November, and growth was recorded across most regions.
And wrapping things up at quarter to 10 in the evening is the New Zealand fourth quarter CPI, which is a high importance release for the Kiwi Dollar traders. The third quarter data surprised on the upside as higher food and housing prices reversed a drop in petrol prices.
You’ve beeen watching the Economic Calendar for Wednesday, the 24th of January. I’m Kiays Khalil and we’ll be back with the next overview of news releases for Thursday. Goodbye.
