The December Index stood unchanged at a notably high level; in particular, a slight increase in economic expectations was reversed by a decline in income expectations. Swiss KOF Economic Barometer for December follows at 8. The Index has been growing for three months straight, driven by strong gains in manufacturing. The final version of UK third quarter GDP is out at half past 9. The initial estimate puts the quarterly growth at point 4%, which is the strongest gain so far this year. Coming up next at half past 1 PM GMT are a couple of news releases regarding the US economy in November, including the closely watched Preliminary Durable Goods Orders. Orders slipped in October, but the core reading actually went up. Personal Income and Spending will be available at the same time. Spending slowed down in October, following a point 9% increase the previous month, whereas income continued growing at a steady pace. And the preliminary Canadian October GDP is out at this time as well, which is a high importance release for all the Loonie Dollar traders. The September reading surprised on the upside, showing the first increase in 3 months. The final reading of University of Michigan December Consumer Confidence follows at 3. The preliminary estimate suggests the Index has continued to decline from 97.8 points a month ago. And US New Home Sales for November are out at the same time. October data surprised very much on the upside as sales reached their highest level in 10 years.
