Bank of England will release the closely watched Minutes of its October meeting at 8:30 AM. The previous minutes showed two policy makers voted for a rate hike. The highly anticipated US Consumer Price Index for September comes at 12:30 PM GMT. The August report surprised on the downside as consumer prices slipped for the first time in more than a year. Canadian Retail Sales for August are due at the same time. Sales inched lower in July, following six months of increase. Loonie Dollar traders should also pay close attention to the next publication, as Bank of Canada will release its latest Monetary Policy Statement at 2 o’clock. It will be followed by a press conference at quarter past three. No changes in monetary policy are expected, but the press conference could provide more insight on the Bank’s future course of actions. A high importance event for the Aussie Dollar traders comes at 9, when the Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Glenn Stevens will be speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Payments and Clearing Association in Sydney. Yet another closely watched event follows at quarter to ten, when the New Zealand third quarter Consumer Price Index is released. Consumer prices grew slightly less than expected as rising housing, utility and food prices were partially offset by a drop in package holidays, fruit and vehicle prices. National Australia Bank will release its third quarter Business Confidence index at half past midnight. The Index moved lower in the second quarter from 7 points reached during the previous period. And Japanese Preliminary Manufacturing PMI for October comes at 1:35 AM. The Index declined in September but it remained above the 50 point mark indicating growth.
