New Zealand Performance of Services Index for November is up first at half past 9 on Sunday evening. The Index lost some ground in October as strong gains in new orders and sales were reversed by declines in employment and inventories. Japanese Trade Balance for November follows at 11:50. Trade balance widened in October on the back of a surge in car and machinery exports. The final reading of Euro Zone November CPI is out at 10 AM. The initial estimate puts the annual inflation at 1.5%, which is some improvement from 1.4% a month ago. US NAHB Housing Market Index for December will be available at 3 PM GMT. November data surprised on the upside as the Index rose to a 9-month high. New Zealand fourth quarter Consumer Confidence is scheduled at 9, and, even though the Index edged lower in the third quarter, it remains well in the positive territory. New Zealand Business Confidence for December follows at midnight. Now, this Index took quite a hit in November, falling to an 8-year low; in particular, businesses are increasingly worried about the new government and a slowdown in housing market. And, wrapping things up at half past midnight are the Minutes of Reserve Bank of Australia December meeting. The meeting did not bring any rate hikes, but none were anticipated, either; instead, the Minutes will be scrutinised for bank’s take on recent economic developments.
