Hello, I`m Alex Iszatt and this is the main Spike Controller for Thursday. As usual, we`ll provide you with the benchmark interbank price data for the 3 non-cross majors. Euro/Dollar’s long term average spread is point 36 pips. They peaked at 11.2 pips yesterday. Last 24 hours show bearish trends here, the pair has dropped by 1.14% or 148 pips, but some of the loss was recovered as the rate rose from the low of 1 2834. The US FOMC Monetary Policy Announcement rocked the spreads yesterday at 6 PM GMT, so let’s zoom in on the price action. Spreads stayed higher than usual for a number of ticks, but you shouldn’t have seen a gap bigger than 11.2 pips. The Cable’s daily average is 1.22 pips and both of the sides were 13.6 pips apart yesterday. Long term high and low difference of 113 pips was recorded as the rate moved South by point 69%, but it has recovered from the low of 1 6246. Spreads peaked at 13.6 pips yesterday at 6 o`clock here as well and they were up to 7 and a half pips today at 8:30 in the morning as the UK retail sales data was out. And last up in this overview is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 36 and 11.4 pips respectively. Greenback has surged against the Yen and the pair hit the daily high of 108 87 after rising by a massive 1.61% or 173 pips. Spreads were rocked by the US FOMC Monetary policy announcement here as well, so let’s find out what happened. Both of the sides moved further apart as the rate declined, but you shouldn’t have been charged more than 11.4 pips.
