Despite the recent surge, peak spread of 1 pip was posted yesterday at 2:53 PM when rate movement was calmer. The Cable’s daily average spread is point 71 pips and both of the sides were 4.4 pips apart during the past 4 hours. Pound/Dollar fell from the high of 1 3126 by a total of point 84% or 110 pips. UK Consumer, Producer and House Price Indexes are were out today at 8:30 in the morning and that’s the time of the peak daily spread, but 4.4 pips is the most you should have been charged. And last up is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 32 and 1.2 pips respectively. The pair slipped a pip below the 112 level as it declined by a total of point 78% or 88 pips. Spreads have been generally calm and the maximum gap of 1.2 pips took place yesterday at 5:52 PM GMT.
