January sales came in weaker than expected, following a 1.9% annual gain the previous month. The closely watched UK Labour Report for February follows at 8:30. Notably enough, this is the last report before the UK General Election, and it is expected to show further improvement in the British labour market. The final version of Euro Zone Consumer Price Index for March is out at 9. The preliminary estimate shows some improvement from the point 3% annual deflation registered in February. Coming up next at 12:30 PM GMT is the highly anticipated US Consumer Price Index for March. The February headline inflation stood at zero, but the core inflation, which omits the volatile food and energy prices, was much more robust. Canadian Consumer Price Index for March is out at the same time, and it is of high importance to Loonie Dollar traders. The annual inflation rate stood unchanged in February. Canadian Retail Sales for February is another release due at this time. January sales surprised on the downside, pushed lower by declining petrol prices. The closely watched preliminary version of University of Michigan Consumer Confidence for April follows at 2. The Index continued to decline in March, although it still remains close to its highest level in seven years. And US Leading Index for March is out at the same time.
