I’m Sinead MacLaughlin and here’s a closer look at the most important economic news releases scheduled for Tuesday, the 16th of September. Coming up first at 8:30 AM are two news releases regarding the UK economy in August, including the closely watched Consumer Price Index. The annual inflation decelerated in July, having reached a five-month high a month ago. Producer Price Index disappointed in July as it recorded its second consecutive monthly decrease, although the core index continued to grow. The high importance German ZEW Economic Sentiment for September is out at 9 o’clock. The Index plumetted in August and now stands at its lowest level since late 2012. Next up at half past noon GMT is the US Producer Price Index for August. The Index continued to grow in July despite a strong drop in fuel prices. Canadian Manufacturing Sales for July are out at the same time. A strong increase in non-durable good sales kept the total growing in June. US Net Long-term TIC Flows for July follow at 1 o’clock. The balance turned negative in June as foreigners reduced their holdings of long-term US securities. New Zealand Second Quarter Current Account comes at 10:45 in the evening. The first quarter current account surplus reached an all-time high. And last up at half past midnight is the Australian Westpac Leading Index for July. The Index inched lower in June, and it has stood below its long-term average for the past six months. So these are the news releases to watch this Tuesday.
