It’s a decision day for the FOMC, so let’s take a look at the major FX market movers and shakers. Dollar/Yen is the mover of the day with an increase of point 59%. The rate rose early in the day and then once again after 6 o’clock. Buck takes the top spot on the advancers and decliners table ahead of the FOMC statement as Core US inflation rose more than expected. Canadian manufacturing sales jumped by 2.3% and Loonie Dollar trades near the top of the list. Kiwi Dollar is mostly higher and traders are awaiting the publication of New Zealand GDP. Swiss Franc is just a fraction North from a couple of currencies. Australian employment figures are out later and Ozzy Dollar stands level with the Single currency. UK claimant count change surprised on the upside, but Sterling is up only from the Yen, which is at the bottom of the table. Let’s take a look at longer terms, where Euro/New Zealand shows the biggest rise over a week and it’s up by close to 4%. New Zealand/Swissie has depreciated the most and it’s 3.85% in the red. Australia/New Zealand is the top advancer over a month and it’s more than 5% in the positive territory. Sterling/Australia is the most bearish pair and it’s down by 6.35%.
