Hello, I’m Monica Gibson in the Dukascopy TV centre with another Economic Calendar. Let’s see which news releases could move the markets on Friday, the 15th of May.
Starting things off at 7:15 in the morning is the Swiss Producer Price Index for April. The March Index saw its first growth in 10 months, driven by rebounding oil prices.
UK Construction Output for March follows at 8:30. Output has been declining for the past two months as both new work and maintenance are down.
Empire State Manufacturing Index for May is out at 12:30 PM GMT. The Index came in much weaker than expected in April, losing 8 points and slipping below zero for the first time in four months.
Canadian Manufacturing Shipments for March will be available at the same time. Manufacturing sales continued to decrease in February, pushed lower by declining car sales.
US Industrial Production for April will be released at quarter past one. Output fell more than expected in March as a slight increase in manufacturing was reversed by declines in utility output and mining.
And the closely watched University of Michigan Preliminary Consumer Confidence for May concludes the schedule at 2 o’clock. The Index saw a strong growth in April, reaching its second-highest level in 8 years.
So that concludes Friday’s Economic Calendar, but we will be back with the next overview of Monday’s most important news releases. Goodbye
