Preliminary third quarter GDP estimates from the largest Euro Zone countries will be available first thing in the morning, starting with the French release at 6:30 AM. The highly anticipated German estimate follows at 7, and the Italian data comes at 9. France is expected to show some growth following two quarters of stagnation, but there are fears Germany may be facing a recession. The closely watched Euro Zone third quarter preliminary GDP is out at 10. The second quarter data surprised on the downside as Euro Zone economy stalled in light of weak inflation and geopolitical issues. The final version of October Consumer Price Index comes at the same time. The preliminary estimate shows some improvement from the five-year low point 3% annual inflation in September. Coming up next at half past one PM GMT are the high importance US Preliminary Retail Sales for October. Sales fell more than expected in September, following a strong point 6% increase the previous month. Canadian Manufacturing Shipments for September are out at the same time. Shipments saw a disappointing drop in August, recording their first decline this year. The closely watched University of Michigan Preliminary Consumer Confidence for November will be released at 2:55. The Index came in stronger than expected in October and now stands at its highest level in more than seven years. And last up at 3 o’clock are the US Business Inventories for September. Inventories continued to increase in August as sales went down, but the growth was smaller than anticipated. So these are the news releases to watch this Friday.
