Japanese preliminary machine tool orders for April open this agenda at 6 o’clock in the morning. The total value of machine tool orders in March was 17.8% up from February level. This is an increase of 28.1% compared to the same month of the previous year and it marked the sixteenth consecutive month of year-on-year growth. Then the Ozzy Dollar traders will be monitoring closely the publication of the Reserve Bank of Australia monetary policy meeting minutes at 1:30 in the morning. Minutes are published two weeks after each meeting. It will be busy with Chinese publications for April at 2 AM – we will get the latest updates on Fixed Asset Investments and Industrial Production, where growth has slowed down recently and Retail Sales figures. Annual growth returned back to double digits in March. Japanese Tertiary Industry Index for March wraps up this agenda at 4:30 in the morning.
