Hello, I’m Imogen Comrie here in the Dukascopy TV centre with another edition of the Economic Calendar. Let’s take a closer look at the economic news releases scheduled for Monday, the 13th of October. The markets will be closed in the United States, Canada and Japan, in observance of Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, and Health and Sports Day, respectively, so the schedule is rather light. The first item on it comes at 11:01 PM when the UK BRC Retail Sales Monitor for September is released. Like-for-like sales saw a strong increase in August, and clothing and footwear were the main driver of growth. Japanese Corporate Goods Price Index for September follows at 11:50. The August Index came in somewhat lower than expected, as a decline in petroleum prices partially offset growing electronics prices. And last up at half past midnight is the National Australia Bank Business Confidence for September. Business confidence eased in August from the 10-month high it reached in July but it still remains strong. So that’s all for Monday’s Economic Calendar.
