The final reading of German June CPI is up first at 6 AM, and the initial estimate puts the annual inflation at 1.6%, which is a slight improvement from 1.5% a month ago. Swiss Producer Price Index for June follows at 7:15. The Index has been declining for the past two months in light of lower pharmaceuticals and petrol prices. The closely watched weekly update on US Jobless Claims comes at 12:30 PM GMT. Initial claims grew by 4 thousand during the week ending July 1 whereas the continuing claims jumped by 11 thousand during the week ending June 24. US Producer Price Index for June is out at the same time. An increase in service prices pushed the total higher in May as it saw the strongest growth in more than 3 years. And Canadian New Housing Price Index for May is due at this time as well. The Index jumped by point 8% in April, which was the largest increase in almost a year. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen will continue her closely watched testimony on the Semiannual Monetary Policy Report at 2 o’clock, and it will also include unscripted questions from the members of the Senate Banking Committee. US Federal Budget Balance for June follows at 6. The May data surprised on the downside as the budget deficit was 34 billion larger than a year ago.
