A couple of UK reports for May open this agenda at 8:30 in the morning, including the high importance Consumer Price Index. Overall inflation slowed down for the third month in a row in April from 2.5% in March. Producer Prices is the other item scheduled for publication at this time. Both Input and Output prices rose in monthly terms in April. Then there are a couple of Euro Zone reports out a half an hour later, including Industrial Production for April. Production rose by a half a percent in March, boosted by production of durable consumer goods, non-durable consumer goods and energy. First quarter Employment Change is the other item out at this time. Employment rose once again in the final quarter of last year and it has been expanding since 2013. The US Producer Price Index for May will be released at a half past noon GMT. The PPI for final demand increased by one tenth of a percent in April, which was the fourth increase in a row. Then we have the day’s key event at 6 PM GMT, when the US FOMC Monetary Policy will be announced. It will be followed by Jerome Powell press briefing at 6:30 and the latest economic projections will be released as well. Markets are expecting a 25 basis point rate hike in this meeting. Australian Consumer Inflationary Expectations for June will be available at 1 AM and the high importance Australian Labour Force Survey for May is out a half an hour later. Employment increased by 22.6 thousand in April, driving the unemployment rate lower to 5.6%. Three May publications regarding Chinese economy wrap up this agenda at 2 o’clock in the morning.
