Two news releases regarding the UK economy in November are up first at 9:30 AM, including the closely watched Consumer Price Index. The annual inflation has stood at a 5-year high for the past 2 months. Producer Price Index is out at the same time, and the output price annual inflation inched lower in October from 3.3% in September. The high importance German ZEW Economic Sentiment for December follows at 10. The sentiment continued to recover in November and now stands at a 7-month high. Coming up next at 1:30 PM GMT is the US Producer Price Index for November, and the annual growth in October was the strongest since early 2012. ECB President Mario Draghi will be speaking at 7, appearing at the European Cultural Days Closing Concert hosted by the Bank. It’s not exactly the venue to announce any major policy shifts, but it still may be a good idea to keep an eye on it. US Federal Budget Balance for November will be available at the same time. The October budget deficit was larger than anticipated, up from 44.2 billion a year ago. New Zealand Food Price Index for November comes at quarter to 10 in the evening. The Index has been declining for the past 2 months, mostly in light of lower fruit and vegetable prices. RBA Governor Philip Lowe will be giving a closely watched speech at quarter past 10, speaking on the subject of e-Aussie at the Australian Payment Summit in Sydney. Australian Westpac Consumer Confidence for December is scheduled at 11:30. The Index slipped in November, following two months of strong growth. And Japanese Preliminary Machinery Orders for October is out at 11:50. Orders slipped in September, and declines were recorded across all subsectors.
