Let’s see how the 8 major currencies line up at 3 PM GMT on this Friday ahead of the weekend. Euro/Canada was flat up to approximately 8 o’clock when the pair started moving higher to post the day’s biggest move, which is a gain of point 7%. Most of the day has been calm for the 8 majors and Single currency tops the list as German GDP was reported in line with expectations. Japanese Yen is mostly higher and it’s followed closely by the Swiss Franc. Then it’s both of the antipodes – Australian Dollar is point 12% up from the neighboring New Zealand Dollar. US CPI and retail sales both were softer than anticipated and Greenback is mostly lower, just like the UK Sterling. Brent trades slightly above the 50 level and Loonie Dollar sits at the bottom of the table. Weekly bulls table is led by Dollar/Swissie and the pair has gained 1.64%. Swissie/Yen is the top decliner with a loss of close to 1%. Sterling/Yen has gained the most ground over a month and it’s up by 6.69%.
