Here’s how the 8 major currencies have performed so far on the last trading day of this week. Australia/Swissie is the mover of the day and the pair has declined by a total of 1.83% or more than 130 pips. The US stock indexes have opened sharply lower and Swiss Franc tops the list, standing close to level with the Euro as the latest report of targeted LTRO showed strong increase in demand. Japanese Yen is point 22% up from the Sterling as UK construction output disappointed. US core retail sales grew slightly stronger than expected and Buck is point 54% up from the Loonie Dollar as Brent continued moving lower. Commodities remain under pressure and antipodes are at the bottom of the list. New Zealand Dollar is point 33% up from the Australian Dollar, which wraps up the advancers and decliners table. All of the weekly top advancer pairs have gained more than 2% and the biggest move is posted by Sterling/Canada. Canada/Yen is the top decliner and it’s 3.47% in the negative territory. New Zealand/Canada leads the monthly advancers list and it’s up by more than 6%. Canada/Swissie has meanwhile dropped by 4.76% and it’s the top decliner. That’s it for Friday’s Movers and Shakers.
