Once again the Dukascopy TV Team has been analysing the benchmark interbank price data to bring you the Main Spike Controller. Euro/Dollar has a long term average spread of point 33 pips and maximum separation has been 3.4 pips. The pair has gained a total of point 73% or 77 pips to reach the daily high of 1 0619. Spreads were at their highest point yesterday at 1:30 PM GMT as the US data was released, but 3.4 pips is the biggest separation you should have seen. The Cable’s spreads have averaged at point 68 pips during the past 24 hours, peaking at 3.8 pips. Pound/Dollar has moved sharply in both direction and the biggest move is a decline of point 51% or 62 pips. Spreads were elevated for a number of ticks yesterday at 11 PM GMT and that’s the time of the peak daily spread, but 3.8 pips is the most you should have been charged. And last up is the Dollar/yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 26 and 1.3 pips respectively. Greenback has surged against the Yen, gaining a total of point 86% or almost 100 pips. News reports don’t match the time of the peak spread – both of the sides were 1.3 pips apart yesterday at 3:47 PM GMT.
