Euro/Dollar’s spreads have averaged at point 32 pips during the last 24 hours, peaking at 4.1 pips. Euro has been moving up against the Dollar and this pair has appreciated by 1.19% or 151 pips. The FOMC Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes were released yesterday at 6 PM GMT and that’s the time of the peak spread. Both of the sides moved 4.1 pips apart during a rise, but anything far above this maximum shouldn’t be tolerated. The Cable’s 1 and 4 hour averages both are below 1 pip and daily peak is 3.1 pips. Pound/Dollar’s last 24 hours have been bullish, the pair has gained a solid 1.16% or 186 pips. Spreads were elevated yesterday at 6 o`clock here as well, but make sure your broker hasn’t charged you more than 3.1 pips. And last up for this overview is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 33 and 2.4 pips respectively. This pair has dropped by more than 1% or 115 pips to hit the daily low of 107 60. News reports don’t match the time of the peak spread here – both of the sides were 2.4 pips apart yesterday at 7:09 PM GMT during a rise. This was the main Spike Controller for Thursday.
