The news flow is light this Friday, but let’s take a closer look nevertheless. I’m Doireann McDermott and you’re watching the Economic Calendar.
Coming up first at 8:30 AM is the UK Trade Balance for August. Trade deficit widened in July as imports outpaced the exports and now stands at its highest level since April 2012.
US Import Price Index for September is released at 12:30 PM GMT. Import prices have been falling for the past two months, pushed lower by falling fuel prices.
The closely watched Canadian Labour Force Survey for September is out at the same time. The number of jobs saw an unexpected decline in August, although the unemployment rate remained unchanged.
The US Federal Budget Balance for September will be available at 6, and this release will be the last covering the 2014 fiscal year. The budget deficit has been shrinking more than expected as tax revenue has gone up, and it could reach its lowest annual level since 2007.
So that concludes the Economic Calendar for Friday, the 10th of October. Our next edition will cover the most important news releases for Friday. See you then.
