Dukascopy Forex TV Team is back with the FX Movers and Shakers for Tuesday, 9th of May. Dollar/Yen has moved sharply higher, breaking through the 114 level to post the day’s biggest move as the pair stands point 82% in the green. Sterling trades on top of the table, standing level with the Buck. The US stock indexes have opened in the green and Greenback is having a bullish day, despite a slight decline in US economic optimism. Canadian building permits dropped by 5.8%, but Loonie Dollar is the most bullish of the three commodity currencies. Euro has retreated from the recent high against the Buck and it’s currently level with the Kiwi Dollar ahead of tomorrow’s RBNZ cash rate statement. Australian retail sales disappointed with a slight monthly contraction and Australian Dollar is the most bearish of the three commodity currencies. Swiss unemployment rate stood unchanged at 3.3% and Swissie is up only from the Japanese Yen, which wraps up the advancers and decliners table. Moving on to longer term performance charts, New Zealand/Yen has had a bullish week, gaining 2.78%. Australia/New Zealand leads the bearish section with a slide that exceeds 2%. Sterling/Australia is on top of the monthly bulls table with a solid gain of 6.87%. Australia/Greenback has depreciated the most and Australia/Swissie shows a similar drop.
