The seasonally adjusted rate has stood unchanged for more than a year, but the unadjusted rate rose to 3% in August from 2.9% a month ago. Canadian Housing Starts for September will be available at 12:15 PM GMT. The number of permits slipped in August, having risen for the past four months. Federal Open Market Committee will release the highly anticipated Minutes of its September meeting at 6 o’clock. These Minutes are expected to show disagreement between doves and hawks as well as provide some guidelines for the future course of action. New Zealand Card Spending for September follows at 9:45. Card spending went up in August, driven by increased spending in hospitality and consumables. UK RICS House Price Balance for September is out at one minute past 11. The Index dropped in August from 48 a month ago as London property prices recorded their slowest growth in three years. Japanese Machinery Orders for August will be available at 11:50. A strong drop in ship machinery orders pushed the total lower in July but core orders still saw growth. A high importance release for the Aussie Dollar traders comes at half past midnight, when the Australian Labour Report for September is released. The August report came in much better than expected, and Australian employment now stands at an all-time high. And last up at 6 o’clock in the morning are the Japanese Preliminary Machine Tool Orders for September. Orders posted their third consecutive monthly increase in August as growing foreign orders reversed a drop in domestic orders.
