First up at 8am is the final Eurozone services PMI for April. Over the past couple of months, eurozone economic data has been posting positive surprises — the flash estimate was the first negative surprise in a while. The high importance UK services PMI is due at 8:30. Analysts say this index may be influential on MPC member’s votes regarding future UK policy and may be a good catalyst for sterling. US ADP report for April is up next at 12:15pm GMT and is potentially one of the week’s main market movers. While expectations are for slight improvement on the 189k jobs created the previous month, all reports this year other than January have fallen short of expectations. Canada’s Ivey purchasing managers’ index for April will be released at 2pm and will be closely watched. The index contracted at a faster rate than expected in March, fuelling concerns over the country’s economic outlook Australia AiG Performance of Construction Index for April is out at 11:30pm GMT. The construction sector in Australia expanded in March, driven by a solid increase in house building activity. The high importance Japanese Monetary Base decision for April is expected at 11:50pm. The BOJ stuck with its plan to expand the nation’s monetary base at an annual pace of 80 trillion yen last month. Eagerly awaited Australian employment data will be released at 1:30am GMT and could shift the ‘Aussie’ exchange rate significantly. Australian Employment Change is expected to come in at only 3.0K in April, following March’s 37.7K. And the last item on this list is the Japanese Services PMI. Services Pmi in Japan sits below the all important 50 threshold having decreased to 48.40 Index Points in March. Well, these are the news releases to watch this Wednesday.
