Hello, I’m Alex Iszatt with another edition of the Dukascopy Economic Calendar. Here’s a closer look at the most important news releases scheduled for Wednesday, the 5th of November.
First up at quarter past eight is the closely watched Swiss Consumer Price Index for October. The annual inflation turned negative in September, and the trend is expected to continue this time around.
The final estimate of Euro Zone Services PMI for October is out at 9. The preliminary estimate puts the Index at 52.4, and, as usual, the German index makes the largest positive contribution while the French index shows contraction.
UK Services PMI for October follows half an hour later. The Index eased in September, having reached a nine-month high a month ago.
Euro Zone Retail Sales for September will be available at 10. Retail trade surprised on the upside in August as fuel, non-food, glitter and food sectors all went up.
US Non-Farm Employment Change for October is up next at 1:15 PM GMT. Employment continued to improve in September, and the growth was larger than expected.
The final estimate of US Services PMI for October is due at quarter to three. The primary estimate shows some decline from 58.9 points a month ago.
The closely watched US ISM Non-Manufacturing Composite Index for October follows at three. The Index remained high in September, and the quarterly growth was the strongest in more than ten years.
Bank of Japan will release the closely watched minutes of its October meeting at 11:50 in the evening. The previous minutes noted weaker exports which were somewhat mitigated by resilient domestic consumption.
The highly anticipated Australian Labour Report for October is out at half past one. Employment saw an unexpected decline in September, and the unemployment rate inched higher.
And Japanese Preliminary Leading Index for September concludes the schedule at 5 o’clock. The Index declined in August, reaching its lowest level since early 2013.
So these are the news releases to watch this Wednesday. Check back in for the next overview of key events for Thursday. Goodbye.
