Let’s see which news releases could move the currency markets on Monday, the 4th of September. This is the Economic Calendar.
UK Construction PMI for August is up first at 8:30 AM. The July index surprised on the downside, dropping to an 11-month low.
Euro Zone July Producer Price Index follows at 9. The index has been decreasing for the past 2 months in light of lower energy and intermediate goods prices.
There’s a break in the schedule until 11:01 in the evening, when UK BRC Like-for-Like Sales for August are released. Sales continued growing in July, but at a slower pace than the 1.2% annual gain a month ago.
Australian Performance of Services Index for August is out at half past 11. The Index gained 1.6 points in July, reaching an 8-month high.
Japanese August Services PMI follows at half past midnight. The Index eased in July as new work and activity grew at a weaker pace.
Chinese Caixin Services PMI for August will be available at 1:45. The Index inched lower in July, showing a relatively modest growth.
And Reserve Bank of Australia will release its latest Monetary Policy Statement at half past 4. Once again, no rate hikes are expected, but any hawkish or dovish hints could still move the markets.
That’s all for Monday’s Economic Calendar. I’m Celeste Skinner and we’ll be back with the next overview of news releases for Tuesday. Goodbye.
