The highly anticipated European Central Bank Monetary Policy Statement comes at quarter to one. Make sure you tune in to President Draghi’s press conference 45 minutes later, as his comments often cause volatility in the markets. Yet another high importance event is scheduled at 1:30 PM GMT, when the US Jobless Claims are released. Initial claims shot up by 31 thousand during the week ending February 21, while the continuing claims went down by 21 thousand during the week ending February 14. US Factory Orders for January are out at 3. December data surprised on the downside as orders declined for the fifth consecutive month. Canadian Ivey PMI for February will be available at the same time. The Index came in much weaker than expected in January, slipping in the negative territory for the first time in 6 months. And last up at half past ten in the evening is the Australian Performance of Construction Index for February.
