Euro/Dollar’s long term average and maximum spreads are point 44 and 3.1 pips respectively. Long term high and low difference of 76 pips was posted during a drop of point 61%, but the rate has moved up from the low of 1 2440. Spreads peaked today at 12:45 in the morning, but anything far above the max of 3.1 pips shouldn’t be tolerated. The Cable’s daily average spread is 1.47 pips and peak of 8.2 pips took place during the last hour. Early decline was followed by a sharp rise and the pair appreciated by point 63% or 101 pips. Spreads were sent up by the UK Manufacturing PMI release today at 9:30 in the morning, so let’s see what happened. Both of the sides were separated for a number of ticks, but you shouldn’t have seen a gap bigger than 8.2 pips. And last up for this report is the Dollar/Yen, which has long term average and maximum spreads of point 47 and 2.5 pips respectively. Daily volatility of 43 pips was recorded as the rate moved South from the high of 113, declining by point 38%. Spreads were higher than usual yesterday at 11 PM GMT, but you shouldn’t have been charged more than 2.5 pips. This was the main Spike Controller for Monday.
