It’s the first day of the trading week and it’s time for the Movers and Shakers. I’m Doireann McDermott and here’s a look at how 8 of the major currencies stack up at 3 PM GMT. New Zealand/Dollar has had a bullish run and the pair stands 1.27% in the green, which is the day’s biggest move. The US stock indexes have nose-dived, but a couple of commodity currencies top the advancers and decliners table. New Zealand Dollar is the most bullish major and it’s point 32% up from the neighboring Ozzy Dollar. UK Manufacturing PMI surprised on the upside and Sterling trades near the top of the table. The Bank of Canada rate statement is scheduled later this week and Loonie Dollar is the most bearish of the three commodity currencies on the list. Moody’s Investors Service cut Japan’s credit rating and Japanese Yen stands just slightly South of the Loonie Dollar. Swiss Franc continues trading in a narrow range with the Single currency and both of the majors are mostly lower at the moment. Wrapping up the advancers and decliners table is the US Dollar. Let’s move on to longer terms, where Sterling/Australia leads the weekly advancers table and it’s 2.67% in the green. Australia/Swissie has declined the most and it’s down by 2.41%. Dollar/Yen is still on top of the monthly bulls chart and it’s 9.43% in the green. Australia/Dollar is the most bearish pair and it has depreciated by 4.41%.
