Starting things off at 7:30 AM is the Swiss procure.ch Purchasing Managers Index for September. The Index slipped in August from 54.3 a month ago. The final estimates of September Manufacturing PMIs from several Euro Zone countries follow next, starting with the French Index at 7:50. The German version is released 5 minutes later, and the data for the entire currency bloc comes at 8. The preliminary estimate shows a twist in the usual pattern as the German index has declined and the French index has moved higher. UK Manufacturing PMI for September is due at half past eight. The Index dropped to a 14-month low in August. Coming up next at 12:15 PM GMT is the US APD Employment Change for September. Non-farm payrolls grew slightly less than expected in August, following a gain of 212 thousand the previous month. Canadian Manufacturing PMI for September follows at half past one. The Index reached a nine-month high in August. Two news releases regarding the US economy are out at 2 o’clock, and the closely watched ISM Manufacturing PMI for September is one of them. The Index came in much stronger than expected in August and now stands at its highest level since March 2011. Construction Spending for August will be available at the same time. Spending rebounded in July, fully reversing a point 9% slip in June. And wrapping up the schedule at 1:30 AM are two news publications concerning the Australian economy in August, including the trade balance. Trade deficit narrowed in July as exports went up and imports stood unchanged. Building approvals surprised on the upside in July, driven by a strong growth in private sector houses.
