Hays (HAS.L) the recruitment firm announced strong first quarter results with like for like net fees up 9%. The company reported that all regions produced a growth in like for like fees and good performance in the most important of these including the UK, Australia and Germany with all three growing simultaneously for the first time in nearly four years according to Chief Executive Alistair Cox.
Here at home, the company showed good growth in the UK and Ireland with a strong growth of 20% in fees for permanent positions. Accountancy, construction and IT were the strongest performing sectors delivering strong improvement in fees growth from the year previous.
Alistair Cox said on the outlook for the rest of the year “”While we are mindful of the risks our world faces today, most of our markets continue to improve and we are focused on capitalizing on the opportunities this presents us.”
Shares were trading up 5% at 124p this morning.
