Balfour Beatty (BBY.L) the civil engineering company today announced news of contracts in Hong Kong. The company has secured two contracts. Both ventures will be undertaken under its Hong Kong based group Gammon Construction, a 50/50 joint venture with Jardine Matheson.
One worth £216M in a joint venture with Hong Kong based business to build public rental housing in attempts for the country to make up for a predicted shortfall in housing.
A second contract worth £84M for the next phase of the Hong Kong science park project for which it has already been involved in previous phases of the project.
Balfour Beatty Executive Chairman Steve Marshall commenting said “These projects build on an already strong order book in Hong Kong and there is potential for more opportunities as the demand for housing and sustainable buildings continues.”
