European markets have opened lower today, as dismal Chinese manufacturing data, broadly hawkish FOMC minutes and the IMF’s downbeat assessment of emerging economies weighed on market sentiment. Meanwhile, investors await a slew of economic data from the US and European economies due later in the day.
