European markets have opened mixed today, ahead of the outcome of Janet Yellen’s first monetary policy meeting as chairperson of the US Federal Reserve due later today wherein the central bank is expected to further scale back its monthly bond purchases programme. Closer home, the Bank of England is set to publish minutes of its latest monetary policy meeting. Additionally, investors would focus on the Chancellor, George Osborne’s pre-election budget statement and UK employment data due later in the day.
