Monetary policy decision run continues on this Thursday, so stay with us to find out more with this edition of the Dukascopy Economic Calendar.
First up is the Swiss National Bank Monetary Policy assessment for March at 8:30 in the morning. SNB left monetary policy unchanged in December, remaining active in the FX market as necessary.
Finalized Euro Zone consumer price index for February will be available at 10 o’clock. According to flash report, annual inflation is expected to be 2% in February, up from 1.8% in January as growth is driven by energy costs.
Key event of the day for the Sterling traders will be the Bank of England monetary policy announcement at noon GMT. Most anticipate no change to interest rates as Britain prepares to leave the EU.
A batch of news reports regarding the US economy wrap up this calendar at a half past noon GMT, including Jobless claims data. Initial claims jumped by 20k in early March and they are expected to climb slightly more in this release.
February housing starts and Building permits is the second of the three items scheduled at this time. Building permits surprised on upside with a rise of 4.6% in January, but housing starts slipped by 2.6%.
Philly Fed Survey for March is the third and the final item for this calendar. Previously the index for current manufacturing activity increased from a reading of 23.6 in January to 43.3 and has remained positive for seven consecutive months.
